Group in Indonesia plans to invade Malaysia today??
I just read on the papers that the Indonesian Benteng Demokrasi Rakyat or BENDERA is planning to invade Malaysia today to "crush Malaysia" because of territorial issues and abuse of Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia, cultural wars etc.
Bendera claimed that it has already recruited more than 1,200 members and expects to sign up at least 300 more for the invasion of Malaysia.
Mustar, the spokesman for Bendera said, “This [training] is to support our people, and we have also armed them with weapons that volunteers donated, such as samurai swords, ninja sticks and sharpened bamboo sticks. We really meant it when we said we were going to deploy [troops] to Malaysia to fight them on [October 8].”
He also appealed to the Indonesian government, “First, we asked the government to close the Malaysian Embassy here and send all the country’s citizens back home. Second, the government should close our embassy there and send home all the Indonesian migrant workers.
“And last of all, we demanded that the [Indonesian] government declare war against Malaysia.”
However many Malaysians are taking them as a joke because many of Bendera's recruits suffer from bodily deformity and are either blind, deaf or crippled. Some Malaysians have joked that they would use durians to fight the ninja sticks and bamboo sticks.
Indonesia's spokesman for the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Teuku Faizasyah, also warned Indonesian individuals who plan to invade Malaysia that they won't get anywhere near Malaysia.
Kuala Lumpur is also not taking it as a joke. The government would be stepping up vigilance on its coastal borders today and will watch out for any "invaders".
Many Malaysian bloggers are actually quite pissed at the idea that while Malaysia is providing aid to Indonesia earthquake victims, some Indonesians are crying out to crush Malaysia.
Let's see today, if anything happens at all.
If there would be a war, whether small scale or large scale, it would definitely affect Singapore.
But personally, I think the group Bendera is a joke. Invade Malaysia with ninja sticks and samurai swords? Hello this is the 21st century and not the 12th century.
